Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2010

WHO: Karl Lagerfeld
WHAT: Chanel Haute Couture
WHEN: January 26, 2010
WEAR: Chanel Haute Couture
WHY: Nary a black dress in sight on the catwalk was a first in quite some time at the house of Chanel, and in its place was a cavalcade of looks in blush, silver, white, and yellow among other similar tones. I always admire the balance of youth and heritage in the Chanel collections, and this one was no exception. There are plenty of chic dresses for the younger set, but also a suit (with shorts no less) in lime and yellow for a more traditional customer. Despite the heavy use of metallics in this collection, Lagerfeld didn't push this collection in the direction of the future. It all feels very now, as opposed to what couture customers may be wearing in say, 2020. Below are my fave looks.
